Notable Products:

What to Expect:

Headquartered in Pittsburgh, NEP Broadcasting operates seven distinct divisions across Pennsylvania, Hawaii, California, New York, and London. The company specializes in mobile broadcast facilities, remote production trucks, and video solutions for sporting events, award shows, and television series. Among the most high-profile clients are the Super Bowl, Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report, Olympic Games, NASCAR, WWE Wrestling, FIFA World Cup, Wimbledon, French Open, Grammy Awards, U.S. Open, British Open, The People’s Court, and Sesame Street.

NEP Supershooters, NEP Denali, and New Century Productions offer a wide range of mobile broadcasting units for live and recorded television production, as well as support vehicles for editing, audio, and graphics. There are more than 30 vehicles in the fleet; each specifically designed to meet a client’s unique needs. NEP Studios operates nine television facilities in Manhattan, with full capabilities for video and audio production, editing and post-production, as well as control rooms. NEP Screenworks is one of the largest providers of mobile LED screen in the country, installing and operating video systems for concerts, sporting events, corporate events, and trade shows. Live Power is the division devoted to power generation services, power distribution, and HVAC solutions for live television production and events.

The company employs more than 400 people, including a massive workforce of skilled technicians. Among the positions available within the organization are those for camera operators, video editors, technical directors, electricians, audio engineers, broadcast engineers, camera assistants, audio technicians, software developers, shop workers, drivers, and general labor technicians. Most positions require a minimum of two years of professional experience, with at least an associate’s degree or equivalent technical training. All mobile engineering positions require 100 percent travel; as such, employees may live anywhere in the country.

A comprehensive mobile unit engineer apprenticeship program is available to talented individuals interested in learning the trade and gaining hands-on experience. Those who are accepted into the program via application must live in the Pittsburg area and participate in a three-phase development program. Phase one lasts for approximately six months and introduces the apprentice to mobile unit construction, basic electricity and cable, equipment installation, and truck schematics. Phase two will last between six and nine months, covering equipment quality control, repair, further installation practices, and hands-on engineering with mobile units in the field. Finally, phase three is an additional three to six months and will have the apprentice setting up mobile units, running on-site maintenance and troubleshooting, and actively working with the production crew. Upon completion of the program, the participant will receive a performance evaluation and may be offered permanent employment.
